Following the release of our Performance Intake for the 2017+ Civic Type R, our engineering team found another aspect of the induction system that could benefit from innovation. The stock turbo inlet pipe is a very sturdy cast-aluminum component that supplies ample airflow for stock and lightly modified vehicles. Despite this, the internal pathway leaves room for improvement for those seeking maximum airflow.
Using the latest in 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench technology, we created an optimal pathway for airflow from the air intake box to the turbocharger. These enhancements result in an inlet pipe that is 16.7% less restrictive than the stock unit.
Our 2017+ Civic Type R turbo inlet tube is constructed with a robust CNC-machined cast-aluminum turbo compressor inlet connection flange. This mating surface is designed to OEM specifications, providing a perfect bolt-on fit. The upper portion of the tube is fabricated from mandrel-bent aluminum piping, which is professionally TIG welded to the cast lower.
This kit includes a 4-ply silicone coupler to mate the Mishimoto Performance Intake MAF housing with our new inlet tube, as well as high-quality stainless steel worm-gear clamps and an EVAP hose adapter flange to make installation a breeze. We offer the option of either red or black powder-coated finish, providing an excellent aesthetic upgrade for your engine bay.
